journeybot
A trip planner for iPhone, iPad and Mac that builds a packing list for the real destination, dates and plans, generated on-device with Apple Intelligence.

The problem
Planning a trip usually means a notes app for the packing list, a weather app to decide what to wear, a currency converter for the budget and a folder of screenshots for flight details. Packing list apps exist, but most of them hand you a generic template or send your plans to a server to generate one.
What we built
journeybot looks at the destination, travel dates and planned activities and builds a checklist for that specific trip. Around the list sits a Journey Hub: forecasts for upcoming trips and historical averages for trips months away, power plug types, local time, a currency converter that understands quick sums like 20+10+5, and a baggage check that flags power banks and lithium batteries against carry-on rules.
- On-device intelligence. Packing suggestions, weather summaries and Genmoji journey icons are generated with Apple’s Foundation Models framework, on the device. Plans never leave the phone.
- Photo stickers. Snap anything you’re packing and journeybot cuts out the background to make a clean sticker for the list.
- No account. Journeys sync through the iCloud the user already has, across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- Widgets. A countdown to the next trip and the destination’s local time on the Home Screen.
How it was made
journeybot is a single SwiftUI codebase that runs natively on all three platforms. It was built by one senior engineer with AI agents in the loop for implementation, test scaffolding, localisation and App Store metadata. The marketing site, comparison pages and structured data were produced the same way. Read more about how we ship on-device AI.
