Hotspot Meter
A macOS menu bar app that counts every megabyte your Mac uses on every network, with live speeds, per-network history and alerts before you hit your cap.
The problem
macOS doesn’t tell you how much data you’ve used. The moment you’re tethered to a phone or on a capped hotel connection, you’re guessing.
What we built
Hotspot Meter sits in the menu bar and keeps count. Live download and upload speeds, totals for the current session and for each network, and a native notification before you reach a limit you choose, from 100 MB to 10 GB.
- Per-network history. Every Wi-Fi network and hotspot you’ve used, with cumulative data and first and last seen dates.
- Auto-tracking. Optionally start counting the moment you join a hotspot.
- Unobtrusive. No Dock icon, no main window, no background services.
- Data Not Collected. Everything runs on the Mac. No accounts, no analytics.
